About Oaxaca FilmFest

Oaxaca FilmFest is an international film festival founded in the City of Oaxaca de Juarez, Mexico, in 2010.

The film festival is dedicated to the recognition and advancement of outstanding achievement in cinema, creating opportunities for filmmakers, and providing audiences with outstanding entertainment. Rapidly emerging as one of the most important developing film festivals in the world, Oaxaca FilmFest is proud to announce edition number three of Southern Mexico's largest cinematic event.

History

Oaxaca FilmFest was established in 2010 with four primary objectives:

- To advance International Cinema.
- To create outstanding opportunities for filmmakers.
- To provide audiences with an amazing entertainment experience.
- To enhance the economic well-being of the State of Oaxaca.

In just two seasons the festival received nearly 2000 submissions from 77 different countries. With an extremely high standard for surviving the selection process, Oaxaca FilmFest has discovered some of the most brilliant filmmakers and screenwriters emerging on the international cinema scene today!

With nearly 35,000 people attending the festival in 2010-2011 Oaxaca FilmFest has injected $6,000,000 USD in revenue to the region.
